Details about this class
Covers RLC circuits, transformers, AC power, and three phase power. Explores steady state sinusoidal analysis and phasor techniques. Introduces the Laplace Transform. Also incorporated is circuit simulation, math analysis software, and laboratory experiments to solidify classroom theory and practice. The course uses the textbook Circuit Analysis and Design, 3rd Edition, Ulaby, Maharbiz, and Furse, 2025. A reference book that can be used is the 10th Edition Nilsson/Riedel 'Electric Circuits' course textbook. Students will need to purchase electrical components for lab.
Technology
For technology, we will be using TinkerCad, LTSPICE, and MultiSim software for simulation and lab work. MultiSim requires a student license that must be purchased.
No show policy
Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class.
Students with disabilities
Students with disabilities should notify their instructor if accommodations are needed to take this class. For information about technologies that help people with disabilities taking Online based classes please visit the Disability Services website.
