Details about this class

Nothing is needed to do before starting the spring 2024 term.

Lecture (Tuesdays): 

The lecture part of this course will take place in-person on the Portland Community College Sylvania Campus Room SS104. You will have in-person class for ENGR101 Lecture every Tuesday 09:00 am – 11:50 am. Attendance for ENGR101 in-person lecture classes will be recorded, but will not be used for grading.

Lab (Thursdays):

The lab part of this course will take place synchronously, which means we will have live Zoom sessions for Lab on every Thursday  09:00 am – 11:50 am. 

You are expected  to follow the Lab procedures to complete the Lab reports.  All lab reports will be done individually, at your convenience.

Asynchronous Parts: 

Homework and Worksheets:
You are expected to spend on average 2.5 hours per week doing Homework and Worksheet assignments. Worksheet assignments will be started in class and may need to be finished outside of class. Homework and Worksheets are part of the lecture portion of the course.

Lab Reports:
You are expected to spend on average 2.5 hours per week watching the Lab videos and reading the Lab files, and following the Lab procedures to complete the Lab reports.  All lab reports will be done individually, at your convenience. 

Assignments:
Homework, worksheet and lab assignments and their due dates will be posted on D2L. The due dates may be updated during the term based on the situation.  

Exams:
Exams will be completed in-person during ENGR101 lecture on scheduled times. There will be two exams, one exam in the middle of the quarter and one exam at the end of the quarter.

Technology Needed:

  • Computer
  • Internet
  • Scanner or camera (or the capability of doing your assignments on your computer or tablet and saving them)
  • Google Drive (All Students already have a Google Drive with their PCC Email)
  • Zoom video conferencing software (available through course D2L site)

Other Materials Needed:

  • Scientific calculator
  • Engineering computation paper (available online and in the PCC bookstore)
  • Pencil and eraser (mechanical pencil preferred)
  • ruler or straight edge

No show policy

Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class.
