Details about this class

GD120 is an Introduction to Graphic Design and is the first course in the Graphic Design program. Instruction will center on the design process and hand skills. Adobe CC applications (Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign) will not be used until later Graphic Design courses.

MATERIALS: Students will be investing in several of the tools they will use in the next 2 years of instruction and beyond. The Materials Kit can be purchased at the Rock Creek bookstore or you can purchase items on your own. Materials will be discussed during the course introduction on the first day of class.   Tools/materials kit: $230 – $240.

Both the Materials Kit and textbook can only be purchased through the Rock Creek bookstore.

 

Technology

CAMERA: Camera or phone camera is required to take quality pictures of work for uploading project photos into D2L.

PRINTER: Printer is required (standard printer paper okay). Printing and/or photocopying assignment templates and project components is required:

- Print from home (minimum needed for GD120: 8.5” x 11” black and white) or via a print/copy self-service business.

No show policy

Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class.
