Details about this class
This is an in-person on campus class. We will be meeting on Southeast Campus in SCOM 308 on Tuesdays 9:00-11:50 am and Thursdays 9:00-11:50 am. You are expected to attend all class meetings.
There will be an all day field trip to Mount Hood on Saturday June 1st. Van transportation will be provided. We will leave and return to Southeast Campus. An alternate assignment will be available to students who are unable to attend this field trip. More details first week of class!
This class does require a text. The text is Natural Disasters by Marshak, Rauber, and Johnson. PCC bookstore has ebook and paper versions of this text both will work fine for this class. An old used paper version of the text will work too.
Here is a sample syllabus from last fall, you can expect this class to broadly similar, I am expecting 25% updates.
Technology
No special technology needs. We will be using Google Earth and accessing various websites during class. If you have a laptop please bring it to class. If you do not have a laptop no worries we have a cart of class room laptops for students to use during class.
No show policy
Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class.
