Details about this class

Welcome to ESOL Level 4 Reading!

I’m Susan Moser (she/they). You can call me Sue. I'm the instructor for the remote Level 4 Reading class in the Spring 2024 term.

We will meet on ZOOM every Tuesday and Thursday from 12:00 to 1:50pm. The first class is on April 2, 2024.

Reading in English can be interesting and fun! In this class, you will practice reading skills that make reading in English easier, and you will learn new words to build your English vocabulary.

You will also write and talk about what we read to improve your comprehension skills and practice your communication skills.

An online textbook and an online novel are the main reading materials for this class. These materials will be available for you on our class website on D2L Brightspace. You do not need to buy the materials, but it is a good idea to print out a copy for yourself to use for class. Here are the links:

  1. Our textbook: A Closer Read by Timothy Krause = https://docs.google.com/document/d/1dQ09ne9my0GHpdqzP9CcDxWw-vsg6fWvPZWF6oaBAO4/edit
  1. Our novel: Stig Digs In by Timothy Krause = https://openoregon.pressbooks.pub/stigdigsin/

I look forward to meeting you in April!
