Hello there,
Welcome to ESOL 154/154N Level 5 Communication! I'm looking forward to meeting you and working with you on elements to improve your pronunciation, listening, and communication!
There is no textbook for this class. I will share electronic copies of the materials on D2L. You can download them on your device or print copies. You can print free copies (100 double-sided pages per term for free) at any PCC library or computer lab.
We will meet on Zoom for this class. Regular attendance and active participation are expected if you want to be successful in this class.
Class time on Zoom: Tuesday, Thursday 6:00-7:50 pm.
I will email you the Zoom link 2 days before the first class. You can also find the Zoom link on D2L in the Zoom tab.
Technology
This is a remote class, so you will need to use Zoom video chat. Also, it will be very difficult to only use a phone for this class; I highly recommend using a computer/laptop with a keyboard. We will use D2L Brightspace, Voice Thread, Google Docs, and PCC email for homework and communication.
No show policy
Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class.
