Details about this class

This is an in-person class that meets at Sylvania campus, TCB building, Room 307 on Mondays from 3 PM to 5 PM. This is strictly a lecture session with an open lab after the lecture. The lecture portion will also be on Zoom, and students can attend via Zoom session. This Zoom session will be recorded. There is no attendance requirement for this course, so both the in-person lecture and the Zoom sessions are optional.

The textbook is "Objects First with Java: A Practical Introduction Using BlueJ" by David J. Barnes and Michael Kolling, sixth edition. This can be bought new or used and is required for the course.

Technology

Java SE JDK, BlueJ, and Git are required for the course and are freely available. You can find instructions for downloading and installing BlueJ, which comes with the Java SE JDK, at www.bluej.org. Instructions for installing and setting up Git are included in the course materials.

Also required is word processing software (such as Microsoft Word or OpenOffice Writer).

No show policy

Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class.
