Welcome to CH222Z / CH228Z

My name is Elizabeth Ntantie, and I am excited to be your Chemistry instructor this Spring!

Please note that you are required to register for the linked sections of CH222Z (CRN 25000) and CH228Z (CRN 25001) that I teach. You must attend both the lecture and laboratory sections to successfully complete the course.

Both lecture and lab will be delivered in person on campus at the Cascade Campus in North Portland. Students are expected to attend all scheduled meetings in person.

Course Structure

  • Two 2-hour lectures per week

  • One 3-hour laboratory session per week (CRN 25001)

Lectures will be interactive and designed to support learning and assess understanding. The information gathered from in-class participation will help guide the pace of instruction and teaching methods. Therefore, active student participation is essential.

Textbook Information

Chemistry: An Atoms-Focused Approach (4th Edition)
This is the same textbook used for CH221Z, CH 222Z and CH223Z.

Students must have access to the Smartwork homework system that accompanies the textbook. You may wait until the first week of class before purchasing access.
