Details about this class

The course consists of fully in-person lectures and labs which will be held on Rock Creek Campus. Lectures will be held on Wednesdays and Fridays from 12:30 pm to 2:20 pm and labs on Fridays from 9:00 am to 11:50 pm. Attendance in lectures and labs is required to receive credit for this class. We will be using the D2L platform to access class materials and submit assignments.

You will need to purchase:

  1. New Lab Manual (CHEM 151 LAB MANUAL F20, ISBN 9780000242525)
  2. Textbook with an MMC homework code (INTRO CHEM RC/SY W/HMWKCODE, Tro, Edition 2018, ISBN 9781323765074)

Modified Mastering Chemistry (MC)

MMC is the required online homework website. There is a cost-saving option for the textbook/MMC combination. At the beginning of the term, each student is given a 14-day free trial of MMC, which comes with an electronic copy of the textbook. You can try this and if it works for you, you can pay $44.37 to continue the course with the eText. If you’d prefer a physical textbook, you can buy it from the PCC Rock Creek bookstore for $131.25 and it comes with an access code for the MMC website. (Please note that the printed textbook/MMC bundle must be bought from the PCC Rock Creek bookstore for the access code to work.) You should not pay both $131.25 and $44.37. You either pay $44.37 for MMC & eText or $131.25 for MMC and physical textbook. I will provide additional information on the first day of class.

Please do not purchase any Modified Mastering Chemistry access codes online (from Amazon or other online sources). These codes will not allow you to register for this PCC CH 151 course.
