Details about this class

This class will be held online at a scheduled time every week. An important part of this class will be engaging in class discussion and working both asynchronously and in breakout sessions with fellow classmates on projects.

Electronic Devices: No additional purchased textbooks or equipment are required; however, having a way to take notes (either on paper or on a device) and an internet-accessible device will be helpful for participation in class sessions.

Asynchronous Work: Class sessions are held remotely at a scheduled time unless otherwise noted. An effort will be made to give students some time to work on most assignments during class time; however, there will be instances where completion of preparatory reading, take-home exams, or assigned projects will require time spent outside of class.

Flexibility: Success in BIT courses is highly reliant on interaction with instructors and classmates as well as a deepening familiarity with the techniques and best practices frequently encountered in the biotech setting. To achieve proper training from this course, students are expected to log on for every class session. That said, it is understandable when other obligations come up. Please let your instructor know if there is a class session that you will miss or be late for as soon as you can. Timely communication often makes it possible to make up missed work and stay up-to-date on class material.

Technology

There is no additional technology required for this class.

No show policy

Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class.
