Details about this class
Greetings!
In ART213, we study Modern Art made between 1945 and the present. This class is in-person, and we will use that time to look at art together and discuss visual qualities, histories, and meaning. I am so excited to teach this class in person this term!
We will take field trips to look at art at local galleries and museums, and you may need to pay Trimet transportation fees and as little as $5 for a group tour at the Portland Art Museum. Most visits will be free. Your written work will include field trip responses and in-class quizzes.
Prerequisites: WR 115, RD 115 and MTH 20 or equivalent placement test scores.
There is no required textbook, and you can complete the course with the links to readings and videos and other resources provided in our D2L course site. If you are interested in book resources to support your learning, let me know and I can make suggestions.
Email me if you have questions: ebilyeu@pcc.edu
I look forward to working with you,
Elizabeth Bilyeu
ART213 instructor
