Details about this class
No Painting experience necessary.
Learn basic skills of mixing colors and painting with a variety of strategies. In the first half of the class you will imitate a variety of styles and techniques, making 1 or 2 paintings a week. In the second half of the term, you will combine these different styles to develop your own independent projects.
Styles may include Impressionism, Expressionism, Renaissance glazing, East Indian Miniature painting, and Abstraction. We will study artists from the Renaissance to the Harlem Renaissance and beyond.
Technology
This class will meet in-person, face-to-face, so the technological requirements are minimal.
Some course content will be delivered through email and/or D2L as needed.
All Materials needed for the class are available as a kit from the bookstore or you can use supplies you already have.
Students will work with Acrylic Paint.
No show policy
Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class.
