Details about this class

This is an in-person class which meets two times weekly for three hours each. Attendance is required to pass the class.

On the first day of class, you will be have a discussion about materials. You do not need to bring anything to the first day of class. A materials kit will be available for purchase from the PCC bookstore, or you can take the list to any number of art supply stores to purchase materials separately.

In the first five weeks of the term, we will be learning about all aspects of Color Theory. Some of the topics covered are the three aspects of color (hue, value, saturation), relativity of color, complementary color relationships, after images, simultaneous contrast, and progressive/recessive color. In the last five weeks of the term, we will be applying what we learned to various design exercises and analyzing them in relationship to the Elements and Principles of Art. You will never lose the skills you learn in this class. It will change the way you view the world!
