Details about this class
This course provides comprehensive training in addiction counseling within clinical settings. Students learn to conduct intake assessments, facilitate treatment groups, manage cases, and deliver educational presentations as needed by their chosen agencies. Emphasis is placed on adhering to professional standards, developing interpersonal skills, and collaborating in team settings. Clinical supervision alongside academic instruction enhances skill refinement and motivates students to meet their individual career goals. Upon completion of all credits of this course, students will have the skills and confidence to thrive as addiction counselors.
Technology
This class is a corequisite course that accompanies the AD 270B in person class.
Students will schedule and practice applying their knowledge at the practicum sites they've alredy establishecd. In order to get the most out of this class, students will need to pre-establish all meetings and contracts required before the start of the term so they can get to work during the first week of the term. Please reach out to your instructor to ensure you are ready to start on day one.
