Details about this class

Welcome to MUS 191P! I look forward to working with you on the journey through Class Piano I. This lecture/lab format class is a great start for students interested in piano, with no previous experience required. It is recommended to take this class along with MUS111, 111C, and 130A if you are planning to major in music.

With both individual and group playing, the student will learn to play major and minor melodies in simple meters along with simple accompaniments. The student will learn to play common chord progressions as well as sight read short melodies in major and minor keys. Students will also learn to harmonize and play short melodies with the primary triads.

Each student will be at a keyboard station in the piano lab. There will be a textbook to purchase in the bookstore. (if the link is not available yet, it will be live shortly)
