Details about this class

MUS111C begins the journey of awakening the musical ear. This course is taken in conjunction with MUS111, and allows the student to draw lived connections between the music theory on the paper and aural experience of live music. The student will develop aural skills through singing, listening, and performing. Includes pitch matching, major-scale interval identification, and transcription of short major key melodies in simple meters. No previous music experience required.

Each student internalizes music in their own way. The way we hear and identify music is unique to each student and my goal is to help you find your own journey through ear training and sight singing.

Students will be graded on attendance, homework practice, and one-on-one sight singing quizzes and in class dictation quizzes.

There will be a textbook to purchase in the bookstore. (if the link is not available yet, it will be live shortly)
