Details about this class
I'm so glad you're considering my MTH 60 class!
As a high school teacher and a college instructor, I firmly believe that you will be able to understand the mathematics you will be studying this term. Some of the curriculum may be familiar to you, but it may also include some concepts you haven’t previously encountered. I hope that with practice, patience, and persistence you will successfully complete this class and be prepared for future math classes.
A class notes packet will be available in the bookstore. We will be using the packet throughout the term. A textbook is not required for this class. There is a free online textbook available to you. If you would like to purchase a paper copy of the textbook, make sure you purchase Edition 3.
Attendance is expected, so you can ask questions, and get immediate feedback.
Please email me if you have any questions.
Technology
To participate in our class, you'll need:
- dependable internet access and
- a device with web browser.
- scientific calculator
We will be using WeBWorK, an online homework and learning system. Access to WebWorK is free, so there is no need to purchase a textbook.
No show policy
Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class.
Students with disabilities
Students with disabilities should notify their instructor if accommodations are needed to take this class. For information about technologies that help people with disabilities taking Online based classes please visit the Disability Services website.
