Details about this class

Thanks for checking out the course details for this class!

This is a MTH 105z course designed to help students directly enroll and succeed in a 100-level math class.

Students who register for this section must also enroll in a 1 credit support course (CRN 44943, make sure to register for both CRN’s at the same time).

Altogether, the support course (1 credit, Pass/No Pass) and the parent math class (4 credits) is 5 credits total.

In a typical week, you can expect to spend:

  • 7 hours in class working with the class on math. Time in class will be active. You can expect a lot of group work and time to engage in math.
  • 8 hours outside of class doing (preparation assignments, practice assignments, studying, visiting the tutoring center...)

Technology

This is a class where technology is encouraged.  We will be using Desmos, google sheets, and Stapplet applets during class. Students will be able to use calculators on exams.

Regarding our textbook/notes: We will be using a free OER textbook and free online homework system.  Class sessions will be a mix of lecture and collaborative work.

No show policy

Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class.
