Details about this class
This course is an in-person class which meets weekly on PCC's Cascade Campus - TEB 114 Studio.
In this course students will participate and collaborate on 3 or 4 short group films. Students are expected to crew on at least 2 productions.
We will collaborate with acting students from MM 145 (Acting for Recording).
We will collaborate with audio students from MM 126 (Sound for Picture).
We will collaborate with students from MM269 (Production Design).
Project scripts will be expected to be 8 to 12 pages. 3 or 4 scripts will be selected for production.
Technology
This course uses professional video production cameras, lighting, grip and audio tools. Equipment will be provided for Check out.
This course uses professional digital media software that requires a computer capable of running Adobe Premiere Pro.
Check the Multimedia Technology specifications page for recommendations. Chromebooks or tablets are not recommended.
If you do not have access to a sufficiently powerful computer our department provides access to Mac labs at the Cascade Campus during open lab hours. Please contact us to learn more and for a link to the current schedule.
PCC offers student licenses for the Adobe CC Suite. Please watch your PCC email in the week prior to course start for information about how to access it.
Recommend an external hard drive, or have about 20-50GB open on your computer’s internal hard drive
Use of Apple Cloud Desktop or other cloud storage is not recommended for working with digital media files. Such software automatically moves large files from your hard drive to iCloud, and deletes the local copy. You must have sufficient local storage to work on digital media files.
No show policy
Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class.
