SPECIAL TOPIC:
WATERCOLOR MONOTYPE
This special topics course explores the rich intersection between painting and printmaking. In addition to painting on paper, we will explore the possibilities of printmaking with watercolor. Students will investigate various mark-making techniques and learn to experiment with the endless possibilities of monotype printing with watercolor. We will cover the fundamental aspects of working with watercolor through demonstrations and exercises. Expect to spend half of the term painting on paper, and half printmaking. Individual attention and group discussions will enhance our personal responses to the medium.
