Two lambs resting under solar panelsGreetings from the Rock Creek campus farm! I thought the fine folks at PCC Rock Creek might appreciate reading about past and current happenings around the barnyard.

Over the summer, we got a few new additions to our sheep herd—six Finnish Landrace ewes (females) and one ram (male). Finn sheep are known for their great wool quality and friendly disposition, and they often produce a high number of lambs.

Our farm animals made appearances at a few events around campus this fall. The alpacas had a great time showing people around the solar array as part of the National Solar Tour in early October. George the goat maintained his status as a local celebrity to his adoring fans at the Harvest Festival.

Currently, we are coming to the end of breeding season, which means we will be expecting lambs starting in late January and calves in late March. Please feel free to come out and take a peek!

Throughout the year, everyone is always welcome out at the farm. You might just get to see some of our amazing Vet Tech students in action!

Thanks for reading!
