The shortage of high school career and technical education teachers in Oregon is a strain on our economy and future generations. The Pathways to CTE Licensure Grant helps teachers complete their state-required CTE licensure through a 15-month cohort-based path in the following career areas:

New teachers

If you have industry experience, but limited teaching experience, we support your growth in teaching.

  • Complete coursework required by the Oregon Department of Education
  • Complete your Professional Development Plan at an accelerated pace (15 months)
  • Receive mentoring and connect with fellow CTE teachers
  • Take the newly required "Exploring CTE in Oregon"

Experienced teachers

If you are a licensed teacher wishing to add a CTE endorsement and need industry experience, we help you gain expertise and smoothly transition into CTE teaching.

  • Complete the industry work experience required by the Oregon Department of Education
  • Complete your Professional Development Plan at an accelerated pace (15 months)
  • Receive mentoring and connect with fellow CTE teachers
  • Take the newly required "Exploring CTE in Oregon"

Create a legacy in your field - The knowledge and experience you have teaching CTE can influence a new teacher and impact the success of our economy.

Pay it forward - Who helped you be the best CTE teacher you could be? Mentoring a new CTE teacher is your opportunity to give back and ensure more young people are able to achieve their education goals.

Mentor a new CTE teacher while they work to complete their CTE Licensure requirements at an accelerated pace over 15 months.

For mentoring a new teacher you will receive:

  • An honorarium for your participation
  • A two-day mentor training focused on
    • Use of observational tools
    • Evidence-based mentoring
