Apply to the CT program

To join this program, you must apply for admission. This moderately competitive program accepts up to 18 students each winter term, depending on clinical site availability. Applicants must be a Registered Radiologic Technologist ARRT(R), Registered Nuclear Medicine Technologist ARRT(N) or (CNMT), Registered Radiation Therapy Technologist ARRT(T) or Registered Medical Sonographer (RDMS) in good standing with one-year experience preferred. Radiography students who will be registered by the start of the program may also apply. The selection process is based on clinical site availability. Applicants who have a clinical site willing to provide training will be preferred entry.

How to apply

  1. Apply to PCC

    Applying to PCC is free and only takes a few minutes. Complete this step as soon as possible so you can start using PCC resources. On the application, choose Associate of General Studies for your major. (Your major will be updated after you’re admitted to the program.)

  3. Check basic qualifications
    • If you are accepted into this program, you’ll need to pass a criminal background check and a drug screen. If you have questions about how a criminal record affects admission, talk with a program advisor[opens in new window].
    • Applicants must be a Registered Radiologic Technologist ARRT(R), Registered Nuclear Medicine Technologist ARRT(N) or (CNMT), Registered Radiation Therapy Technologist ARRT(T) or Registered Medical Sonographer (RDMS) in good standing with one-year experience preferred. Radiography students who will be registered by the start of the program may also apply.
    • Applicants cannot have certain medical implant devices – please contact us if you think this may apply to you.
  4. Write supplemental essay

    Write a one page essay describing your work experience that brought you to CT, your career goals, and what you consider your greatest strengths.

  5. References

    Gather information for three references (past instructors, supervisors, or managers) and send them the Reference Evaluation Form.

  6. Pay fee

    There is a non-refundable application fee for this program: Pay the $25 application fee. (Cash, checks, or money orders are not accepted.)

  7. Submit application

    Complete the application to CT.

After you apply

You’ll be notified about your application status in Summer term. Check your MyPCC email: all communication is done through your PCC email account.

After being accepted, students will obtain criminal background check, drug screen, and immunizations.
