What is my G#?
This is your student ID number PCC issued to you when you were admitted.
What is your governing JATC?
This the JATC you’re applying to: MA 1040 LME/SE/LBME JATC, MA 1018 MPE JATC, MA 1146 MW/IMM JATC.
Do I need to take a placement test?
Yes. The exception is if you have previous college transcripts showing you have taken a math course of math 60 of higher in the last 3 years and have submitted those transcripts to the PCC advisors for placement.
Where do I complete math placement?
You do this by logging in to MyPCC home tab and clicking ALEKs math skills. Select the year cohort (depending on when you applied to PCC). Do not select or enter a class.
Do I need to complete reading and writing placement?
For the apprenticeship application, math is the only placement required. If you are going to take an elective or a class outside the apprenticeship core classes, you may need to complete reading and writing placement, but it can be done at a later time.
Do I need my high school transcripts?
You need to provide either GED test scores, a high school transcript showing graduation date and high school level math courses passed with a “C” or better, or an AAS degree or higher showing the degree was awarded and high school level math course passed with a “C” or better. Simply taking classes in college does not meet the requirement.
Do I need copies of the licenses or journey cards from my employer?
Yes. We need copies of all licenses or screenshots from the BCD showing they have an active license and ratio is being met. We need all licenses or journey worker documentation from a direct source. Students must have enough submitted to support current and new applicants. If there is an issue supplying this to the apprentice, please email them directly to our office.
Can I get credit for classes I took or work I did before I was an apprentice?
In some cases, you may be able to obtain credit for on-the-job hours or related training hours. This is made on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of the committee. If you’re interested in obtaining credit for prior work, you’ll find the necessary form as part of the application process.
