Frequently asked questions for applicants

I’m having trouble logging on to TradeSchool. What now?

If you have requested to “create an account,” and you are logging in for the first time, you must click “reset password.” If you have re-set your password and are still having trouble, please contact the Apprenticeship Administrators at apprenticeship@pcc.edu or 971-722-5651.

I have a high school transcript but it doesn’t show the date I graduated. What now?

Your Committee is required to have your date of completion documented. If your high school is unable to provide you with that information on a transcript, sometimes a copy of your diploma will show the graduation date.

I submitted my application. How long until I hear from the Administrators?

The administrators are unable to begin processing your application until all steps are complete. Once you have completed all the steps, you will receive an email confirming your submission. The most important thing to keep in mind is the date of the next Committee meeting. For your application to be considered, it must be submitted and certified complete by the Apprenticeship Administrators 10 business days before the date of the meeting. Please also keep in mind that the Administrators may try to contact you by making comments on your actual application so be sure you are logging in regularly to check. If you have not heard from the Administrators before the 10-day deadline please contact them at apprenticeship@pcc.edu or 971-722-5651.

Can I get credit for classes I took or work I did before I was an apprentice?

In some cases, you may be able to obtain prior credit for on the job hours or related training hours. Award of such hours is made on a case-by-case basis and at the discretion of the Committee. If you are interested in obtaining any such prior credit, you will find the necessary form as part of the application process.

Why do I have to appear in person in front of the Committee?

An apprentice is required by the State to be formally indentured by the Committee at a Committee meeting. If you or your employer are unable to appear, you will need to wait until the next regularly scheduled meeting.
