Have you ever felt that you want to improve the overall look and feel of your online course, but don’t know where to really start? To kick-off Fall term, the Online Learning Instructional Design team is organizing an opportunity for faculty to improve the design of their courses!

Who is this for?

  • Instructors teaching online with no scheduled meeting courses (ONSM).
  • Instructors interested in improving the overall organization and design of their ONSM courses.

What is involved?

  • Designing in D2L Brightspace Training (optional, but highly recommended)
    • Description: This training is all about quality design inside a Learning Management System like D2L Brightspace – the tools and strategies that help your instruction come to life for students in a virtual space!
    • Stipend = $150
  • Meet the Essentials Criteria of the Online Course Design Framework
    • This is Online Learning’s new Quality Review tool.
    • Stipend = $200
  • OL support and resources will be available to help you with meeting the Design Framework Criteria.
  • Dedicated Google chat group for participants to connect and ask design related questions of the instructional design team!

Requirements

  • Course is an online course with no scheduled meetings (ONSM).
  • Course does not originate from an online course developed with Online Learning’s Instructional Design team.
  • All requests to participate must be submitted by October 15, 2025.
  • All courses need to be submitted for review no later than November 3, 2025.
