Black History Events at Cascade CampusFeb 3rd – Skip Bowman Jazz TrioThe Skip Bowman Jazz Trio will be performing in the cafeteria on Thursday, Feb. 3rd, from 11-1pm. The cafeteria will be serving soul food and you can pick yourself up a free slice of sweet potato pie!Questions? Call Leah Gibson @ x518815th Annual Cascade Festival of African Films Opening night is this Thursday at the Hollywood Theater! Films will be showing from Feb. 3rd to Mar. 5th at various locations. Pick up a schedule at the Information Booth or Student Activities in SC 103.Feb. 15th – All Power to the PeopleOn Tuesday, Feb. 15th, ASPCC will be showing the Black Panther movie, All Power to the People, in the cafeteria. Time is TBA.Feb. 16th – Youth of Color WorkshopOn 2/16, from 12-2pm, Youth of Color organizers from Africa will share their insight and expertise with a small group in this interactive workshop. Lunch will be provided. If you are a youth of color and are interested in participating, please stop by SC 103 for more info. Location TBA.Feb. 18th – MLK LectureOn Friday, 2/18, Dr. Leroy Haines will speak on the life and ethics of Martin Luther King, Jr. TH 122, 6-9:30pmFeb. 21st – FlooneyIn honor of Black History Month, performing artist, Flooney, with perform works of Langston Hughes from 11-12pm, room TBA.Mar. 5th – Hip Hop EventStop by Ockley Green Middle School on Saturday, from 7-11pm on March 5th to catch an exciting line-up of dancing, poetry, art, music, and a rap battle! All ages are welcome for the first half of the event, 16+ for the second half. The charge is either $2 or two cans of food at the door.Any questions about these or other events?
