PCC offers study abroad in Florence, Italy

PORTLAND, Ore. – The International Education program at Portland Community College is offering an opportunity for students to study abroad in Florence, Italy for fall term 2004.Students will have the opportunity to study Italian, experience the life and culture of one of Italy’s most beautiful cities, see the world’s greatest collection of Italian Renaissance paintings and much more. In addition, students will take a minimum of 12 credits from among the following courses: "Humanities 105: Italian Life and Culture?; "Humanities 210: Special Studies in Humanities?; "Writing 121/122/123: College Composition Sequence?; "Eng 105: Introduction to Literature?; "Art 203: Introduction to the History of Art?; "Art 231, 232, 233: Drawing I, II, III?; and "Art 234, 235, 235: Life Drawing I, II, III."There will be five opportunities for prospective students to attend informational meetings to understand the details of the trip. All meetings are from 6 to 7 p.m. They will be held on Wednesday, April 14 in Library 204 at the Sylvania Campus (12000 S.W. 49th Ave.); Tuesday, April 20 in Room 136 of Building 5 of the Rock Creek Campus (17705 N.W. Springville Rd.); Tuesday, May 4 in Room 103 of the Student Services Building at Cascade Campus (705 N. Killingsworth St.); Thursday, May 13 in Library 204 at Sylvania and Wednesday, June 23 in Library 204 at Sylvania. The application deadline is Tuesday, July 20.Anyone who is at least 18 years old, maintains a "C"average, and has completed at least 12 college credits is eligible.
