TUALATIN, Ore. – Let Portland Community College unleash the artist in you this summer through the non-credit class, Getting Started in Art.Instructor Susan Foley will begin with drawing basics as a foundation to good painting, then move on to painting techniques and style. Students will experiment with watercolors and acrylics in this supportive environment designed to encourage creativity.The class will meet from 1 to 4 p.m. every Tuesday, June 25 through Aug. 13, at the Tualatin Senior Center, 8535 S.W. Tualatin Road. Portland Community College will show you how with Beginning Nature Photography, a non-credit course beginning in June.Instructor Juan Calvillo will teach students camera operation and handling, lens selection, film types, filters and exposure. Students can then create images of nature by mastering composition, perspective, color and more.The course will be offered from 6 to 8:30 p.m. every Tuesday, June 25 through Sept. 3, at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 11305 S.W.
