"CLAUS," which debuted last year at PCC’s Performing Arts Center, was well received by both the college and Portland-area community. It is based on stories by L. Frank Baum, the author of the "Wizard of Oz," and is a funny, warm-hearted musical that charts Santa’s legendary journey from toy maker to immortality.

Oregon Children’s Theatre approached PCC last year after touring PCC’s new theater complex. The 400-seat facility is considered one of the best of its size on the West Coast.

Michelle Hasson, 9, a Lake Oswego resident, plays Bessie. She is a third-grade student at Lake Grove Elementary. Jay Pevney will play Claus. Pevney is a 20-year acting veteran who has performed both regionally and nationally, including a number of television productions. Director is Stan Foote, a well-known Portland-area director and actor. Foote won last year’s Drammy award for best director of Oregon Children’s Theatre’s "Stuart Little," which also won a Drammy for best musical.
