The Columbia Works Internship Program connects Columbia County high school students with paid, hands-on summer internships in advanced manufacturing and related fields. Interns work alongside professionals in real-world environments while receiving structured support through the PCC OMIC Training Center.

  • Dates: July – August
  • Eligibility: Open to juniors, seniors, and recent graduates from Columbia County high schools
  • Pay: $18 per hour (funded through grants and partnerships; no cost to host companies)
  • Industries: Machining, welding, mechatronics, engineering, and business operations
  • Transportation: Support provided for students as needed

Become an Industry Partner with Columbia Works Internship at PCC OMIC in Scappoose! Different ways to get involved:

Become a host employer
  • 2026 Summer Host Employer Interest Form
  • Apply to be a host employer.
  • Hire a part-time intern for 4–6 weeks during the summer.
  • Secure local talent and close the skill gap.
  • Give back to the community in a meaningful way.
  • Invitations to special events and recognition.
Sponsor an intern
  • Support the internship program through a financial gift.
  • Give back to the community in a meaningful way.
  • Provide access for an intern to valuable skills and experience.
  • Invitations to special events and recognition.
Host a tour
  • Host a 1–2 hour tour of your operation.
  • Support the quality and variety of the internship program.
  • Generate interest in your specific field of profession.
