THE POINTED CIRCLE: ISSUE 42

Letter from the Editors

We are thrilled to present this 2026 edition of The Pointed Circle. This edition brings us the highest quality work
from dozens of contributors from all around the world. Since its creation, The Pointed Circle has collected a
diversity of engaging pieces of poetry, prose, and visual art. We are proud to continue that tradition with this 2026 Edition, which features impactful and memorable works from contributors of many different perspectives.

It is worth acknowledging that the Spring 2026 academic quarter was shortened due to a faculty strike. We want to express our extreme gratitude to the faculty and staff that allow us to create. From the teachers that encourage us every day and the staff that keep our campus running smoothly to the faculty that connect students to life changing resources, every person plays an immensely valuable part in the promotion of creativity.

The rapid rise of AI has created a new challenge when it comes to finding high quality creative work. This means
that the value we place on original human thought and creativity is increasing every day. We are especially
proud to present our magazine with the intention of promoting and encouraging work by people with their
own perspectives, lives, and appreciation for art. This literary journal required hard effort from all of
our writers and artists, as well as our editors to ensure everything could be delivered on time. Our submission
process attracted more extraordinary works than we could print, all of which we received with a shorter
submission period than past editions. We are so grateful to our contributors for all their hard work.
