Please note:  In 2021 Oregon passed HB 3255.  This legislation changes the hours calculation for instruction to include an additional 3.35 hours per 1 hour of instruction, effective 9/25/21.  This new calculation is for classes taught from Fall 2021 forward.

For terms prior to Fall 2021, there are two different calculations for instruction hours:
Winter 2017 to Summer 2021 — we use the same calculation we do for reporting hours to PERS, which is about 2.1 hours for every lecture hour taught.
Prior to Winter 2017 — we count one hour for each hour taught.
