Respondus LockDown Browser
Respondus LockDown Browser is a tool that limits what you can do on your computer while taking a quiz or exam in a D2L Brightspace course. It prevents you from opening other programs or websites during the test. If your instructor requires it, you can download and install LockDown Browser on your personal computer for free.

Frequently Asked Questions
What do I do if I see a message about being banned?
If you try to use a program or other method to bypass LockDown Browser, the system may ban you from using it. If this happens, you will not be able to take quizzes that use LockDown Browser.
While the ban is in place, LockDown Browser will display a code when you start it. You will need to send this code to the Learning Technology Help Desk and ask that we lift the ban. This process may take some time. The Help Desk will contact you when you can use LockDown Browser again.
