Tracey Arnold-Rusnak | “Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women~No More Stolen Sisters”

This media file is attached to: 1st Annual One College Virtual Art Student Exhibition

A drawing of a photograph dedicated to bringing attention to the epidemic of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women Girls and 2spirit (MMIWG2S) people. The intention was to draw something meaningful while bringing awareness to these tragic reoccurrences. Permission was granted for its use by Macaela Iron Shell Dominguez (pictured) with an explicit desire that “the message and movement not be separated from the image. An image that is about remembrance and resistance. The reality that we as Native people still exist and are still being colonized. Colonization is not a thing of the past, it is an ongoing process that is exhibited in our MMIWG2S crisis, in our battles over sovereignty, and in our fights to save the earth”.
