This piece was our final project where we focused on open forms and transparency using watercolor. My image represents many themes including adoption, personal identity, and family roots.

Ashley Ochsankehl | “Rockfish”

A still life acrylic painting with a dark teal background representing drapery. Central to the image is an altar with a bright yellow candle on the left with carved flowers, in the center is a string of pearls plant whose tendrils lay over the entirety of the alter. In front of the plant is a small pink prism stone. To the right of the plant is a number 6 domino piece. The bottom of the altar features an antique silver cigarette case, to the left of the cigarette case is citrine stone.
