This painting is a self portrait inspired by the view I have of my bird feeder from my bedroom window. The chickadees surrounding me convey the sense of passive observation that I have frequently felt during the pandemic. Especially spending so much time indoors, watching my window. The world is active around me but I remain a little separate from it. Connecting with nature has helped me feel reengaged with the world again.
