This painting was completed in Painting 181 for the mixed-black and white project with acrylic paint, on a stretched canvas. I used a mix of ultramarine blue and raw umber to create my mixed black. For reference I used a personal photo of my dog at the beach on a sunny day. I focused on portraying all the values and capturing the essence of my mastiff.
