This was one of my options for an art assignment, we had an assignment to draw the 3 steps of a drawing. The rough sketch, the solid lines, and then the final with shading or color. This was one of my ideas that I branched off of and finalized with watercolor. I was self-conscious about this piece but decided to try and finish it later that day. It is my baby nephew's portrait.

A watercolor painting with blocks of purple starting with light values that transition to a dark purple, and lastly orange, the blocks of color are mountains, representing what you would see if looking from a high vantage point from a distance, the sky is stormy and the storm cuts off at the horizon barely touching the tops of the mountains. The water has run down the paper a bit causing slight gradation.
