Jayla Pride | “Love Me Not”

This media file is attached to: Drawing

A class project meant to introduce the technique of reductive drawing. By illustrating the rose, I had to combat the need for perfection and learn to use unfamiliar mediums. The title, "Love Me Not," refers to how each petal made me angry but satisfied. The removal of charcoal proposed I think heavily about white and negative spaces to create detail. As I applied time and highlighted with Conté, I developed a better understanding of 3D perception in 2D art.
