Camryn Deltac | “Study of Goya’s Disasters of War, Print 39”

For this piece, I had a choice of all of Goya’s 82 prints to use as reference for an assignment. Immediately, I was drawn to the generally more gory depictions, as I usually am, to recreate. Obviously, these prints were not made with graphite, so I had to finagle my own hacks, if you will. I started with normally mapping then sketching everything out, after that was almost finished I somewhat erased it, and all over again went in with a continuously sharpened pencil to get the fine ink-like lines.
