This piece was made by using a flat piece of balsa wood to stamp letters with sumi ink onto paper, and then painting in some of the shapes that resulted from the overlapping. The text is lyrics from an IAMX song called “I Come With Knives”, and it is deliberately illegible. I did want the piece to be sharp and edgy, along with a suggestion of danger or blood.
