Mae Pettit | “Basic Needs are Human Rights”

This media file is attached to: Basic Design / Calligraphy

Designed with the intention that it would be found in a middle school hallway to influence the younger generations, future leaders of our country, to view basic human needs; Food, Water, and Shelter, as human rights. The message specifically correlates to the failure to provide resources to all Americans. Though we are one of the wealthiest countries, our needs have been commodified, driving us to operate within capitalism and disconnecting us from ourselves and each other. Those who cannot afford to meet their needs are starving, thirsty, houseless, and disconnected from a high quality of life both physically and emotionally.
