Courses ineligible for financial aid
Understanding which courses count toward your financial aid eligibility is important! Your financial aid award amount is determined by your enrollment in classes that count toward your declared degree at the end of the add/drop period each term: see term dates in the academic calendar.
The following course types are not eligible for financial aid, even if they are part of your approved program of study:
- Non-credit courses
- Continuing Education (CEU) courses
- English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) levels 1-4
- Adult Education (ABE) courses
- ALC and ALM labs
- PE 10
- MTH 20
- Skills Center courses
- Job Search courses
- International Education courses
- Workforce Training Team courses
- Courses taken for an audit grade
- Course repeats beyond allowed limits
Impact on financial aid standing
Remember: all credit classes that you take, whether eligible for financial aid or not, count towards your financial aid standing calculations. Financial aid standing is reviewed at the end of each term and can affect your overall financial aid eligibility.
