Course Description

Explores the scope of conditions that promote or inhibit human functioning, such as social, economic, biological, psychosocial and cultural systems. Covers the range and characteristics of human services delivery systems, including populations served. Requires: 20 hours of Community Based Learning (CBL). Prerequisites: WR 115, RD 115 and MTH 20 or equivalent placement test scores. Audit available.

Intended Outcomes for the course

Upon completion of the course students should be able to:

  • Identify the range and characteristics of human service delivery systems and organizations.
  • Identify the range of populations served and the needs addressed by human services.
  • Articulate the major models of human services used to conceptualize and integrate prevention, maintenance, intervention, rehabilitation, and healthy functioning.
