Course Description
Designed to teach the fundamentals of medical coding and prepare the student to take the CPC Examination (Certified Professional Coder). Our AAPC Professional Medical Coding Curriculum (PMCC) has been developed to teach the latest information related to medical coding as it relates to insurance reimbursement. In addition, this course provides skills that teach the coder proficiency in adjudication of claims for accurate medical coding for diagnoses, procedures and services performed by physicians and recognized licensed non-physician providers in physician-based settings. Prepares student to take the AAPC CPC certification exam.
Intended Outcomes for the course
Work in a coding environment applying ICD-10 codes to practitioner patient notes and health care events.
