Course Description
Prepares students to take the state pesticide certification for the Laws and Safety portion of the licensing test. The workshop is for prospective applicants for the Oregon pesticide license exam.
Intended Outcomes for the course
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
Describe pesticide licensing requirements.
Read and follow pesticide labels to determine appropriate use, precautions, and application requirements.
Select appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) based on pesticide label requirements and application conditions.
Explain pertinent laws and regulations governing pesticide use.
Apply the principles of integrated pest management (IPM) to pest management situations.
Describe best practices for reducing pesticide drift.
Apply safe practices for transporting, storing, and disposing of pesticides.
