Course Description
Builds essential skills in injury prevention and the initial assessment and care of injured or ill individuals in trade environments, including response to cardiac emergencies.
Intended Outcomes for the course
Upon successful completion of the course students should be able to:
Recognize emergency situations and assess scene safety to determine appropriate first aid actions and the need for additional medical assistance.
Provide initial first aid care for common injuries and illnesses, including bleeding, burns, fractures, shock, and medical emergencies, using approved techniques.
Demonstrate proper techniques for safely moving or assisting injured individuals when necessary to prevent further harm and maintain responder safety.
