Course Description
Covers principles of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Students learn to identify datums and symbols, interpret tolerance zones, apply position theory, and develop inspection plans for modern manufacturing.
Intended Outcomes for the course
Upon successful completion of the course students should be able to:
Identify and apply datum features and their order of precedence in accordance with industry standards.
Recognize and interpret GD&T symbols as defined in the current standard.
Describe and calculate tolerance zones and perform related dimensional tolerance calculations.
Interpret GD&T inspection requirements and incorporate them into an inspection plan.
Explain position theory and evaluate its advantages over coordinate tolerancing methods.
