Course Description
Discover reading strategies that work without the need for special pull-outs or extra attention. This course will introduce you to some creative tools that will help your struggling readers make steady progress throughout the school year.
Intended Outcomes for the course
- Identify phonemes (/c/a/t/), and then take a look at how Elkonin Boxes and alphabetic arcs help students build phonemic awareness for simple and complex words.
- Help struggling readers build fluency with direct and indirect approaches.
- Use creative writing strategies to improve writing skills and engagement.
- Tailor powerful response to intervention strategies to different students' learning styles.
