Course Description
Explores fitness instruction and leadership for older adult populations. Provides tools and information needed to design fitness training programs for healthy older individuals and groups. Audit available.
Intended Outcomes for the course
Upon completion of the course students will be able to:
- Design and implement health and fitness assessments and programming for older adults based on scientific foundations.
- Apply effective teaching strategies in older adult fitness instruction.
- Apply motivational strategies to promote participation in older adult fitness activities.
- Explore current trends and employment opportunities for fitness instruction in older adult populations.
